Friction material samples testing machine. Features Technical characteristics
  • A sample of friction material is placed on a support and brought into contact with a rotating disk;

  • The following Time Histories are acquired:
    • Normal force;
    • Torque (tangential force);
    • Rotation speed;
    • Disk temperature;
    • Wear and tear of the sample;
    • Friction coefficient (real time computing).
  • The machine is managed by a PC, which monitors the tests execution.
  • The operator defines the following parameters by interacting with a test description environment:
    • Disk rotation speed;
    • Braking time (test duration);
    • Test control modality:

      • Normal force;
      • Torque (tangential force).
  • 5.4 kW DC motor, 2300 rpm;

  • Load cell with 200 N full scale for normal force;

  • Lever arm with load cell with 250 Nm full scale for torque (tangential force);

  • Wear and tear sensor;

  • Thermocouple inside the disk;

  • Maximum size of friction material is ½ inchs.
